It's the Saturday before I turn 40! I can't believe it! I don't feel like I should be leaving my 30s and entering the 40s. Especially when all the family is together, I still feel like just the kid of the siblings, and barely older than the nieces and nephews. Happy Birthday this month to Tony and Joe, too.
School has officially passed the halfway mark. It just goes by faster from this point. We'll turn around and it will be summer again before we know what happened.
Chan is wrapping up basketball. There are 45 boys to split between two teams, so he doesn't get a lot of playing time really. They rotate a schedule of every three games with 8-10 boys on the team. He hasn't had a lot of playing time really. This week will probably be his last game of the season. I haven't been able to take a single picture of him playing yet. The first game we had to go out of town and I rushed out of school without the camera. The second game, my battery was completely dead. :(
Alec is competing in a UIL contest with the other percussion players in the band. He's been practicing two days a week after school. I haven't got to hear them yet, but he has done this every year and it has always been really cool. It's all drums and bells usually. I can't wait to hear it. We also started the driver's education thing with him. Not much longer and he'll be able to take the test for his permit! I cannot believe that! Next year at this time, he will be able to drive the two of them to school right across the street from each other, and I will be able to stay right here in the neighborhood where they are building the new school. I'm including some pictures from his Halo birthday party.
Probably a long enough post!!
